Artem Vaulin, who was held at Warsaw-Bialoleka Investigative Detention Center has been given Bail. The government prosecutors stated that Kickass torrent spread over $1 billion worth content and earned millions of dollars from ad revenue.

Well, KickassTorrents is one of the top torrent website out there on the internet until it went down previous year when the owner of KickassTorrents website, Artem Vaulin was arrested in a joint operation by the US authorities with the Polish police.

He was accused of various crimes like copyright infringement and money laundering. According to the reports from The Verge, Artem Vaulin, who was held at Warsaw-Bialoleka Investigative Detention Center has been given Bail.

The government prosecutors stated that Kickass torrent spread over $1 billion worth content and earned millions of dollars from ad revenue. Artem Vaulin has paid $108,000 to get bail. He was currently out of jail.

The lawyers of Artem Vaulin said that his passport had been seized and he is right now living in a rented apartment in Warsaw with his wife and 5-year old son.

According to The Verge, Vaulin’s wife Olga Nikolayeva said “Vaulin typically shared a 15-square-meter cell with three other inmates. That area — the size of a single-car parking space — contained a toilet, four men, their possessions, and two sets of bunk beds.”

Artem Vaulin said that he has been advised not to discuss anything regarding charges against him. However, he said “I’m a businessman. When I start a business I consult lawyers. I was never told that anything I was involved in was against the law.”

Vaulin’s lawyers said “If the US indictment is defective then extradition based on the indictment is erroneous – Artem shouldn’t have to leave his family behind”
